仮想マシン上でのVista稼動、なんかヤバくね？

Licensing Changes to Windows Vistaを読んでて「まぢか？」と思ったので、確認してみた。

リテール版のライセンスについては、以下のURLから取得可能（但し書いてる時点でVistaのEULAは英語のみ）。

そっからダウンロードしたVistaのHome Premiumと、Businessにあった"USE WITH VIRTUALIZATION TECHNOLOGIES."の部分を以下に。

• Home PremiumのEULA

4. USE WITH VIRTUALIZATION TECHNOLOGIES. You may not use the software installed on the
licensed device within a virtual (or otherwise emulated) hardware system.

• BusinessのEULA

f. Use with Virtualization Technologies. You may use the software installed on the
licensed device within a virtual (or otherwise emulated) hardware system. If you do so,
you may not play or access content or use applications protected by any Microsoft digital,
information or enterprise rights management technology or other Microsoft rights
management services or use BitLocker. We advise against playing or accessing content
or using applications protected by other digital, information or enterprise rights
management technology or other rights management services or using full volume disk
drive encryption.

Home Premiumは「VM上にインストールするな」ということだし、Businessは「VMにインストールしてもいいけど、VM上でMSのDRMとか権利保護のためのしくみにアクセスするな。もしくはBitLocker使ってちゃんと保護しろ」と言ってるように読める。「MSの権利保護技術を使ったアプリケーションは使えない。BitLockerも使えない。他社の権利保護のためのサービスやディスク全体の暗号化は、この使用をお勧めしない」というようなところですか。

で、licensed deviceの話はEULAのアタマの方にあって、

2. INSTALLATION AND USE RIGHTS.
Before you use the software under a license, you
must assign that license to one device (physical hardware system). That device is the
“licensed device.” A hardware partition or blade is considered to be a separate device.

a. Licensed Device.
You may install one copy of the software on the licensed device.
You may use the software on up to two processors on that device at one time. Except
as provided in the Storage and Network Use sections below, you may not use the
software on any other device.

licensed deviceは、「Vistaを使うにあたって、ライセンスを割り当てるもの（物理的なハードウェアと念押ししてる…）のことと言っている。
ネットワークとか共有ストレージとかを介して使う場合はまた別だけど。

でも、"Using with Virtualization Technology"で、"the licensed device"についてわざわざ言い直してる。
要は「VM上に割り出された"licensed device"に対して」というように、「VMについては別よん」と言い直してる。

これまずいなぁ…。Home BasicとかHome Premiumとかを、VM上にホストできないということを言ってるようなもんだ。
検証目的でも、物理ハードウェアが必要という解釈になってしまう…。
